One of the things I’ve learnt about writing a travel magazine is to embrace all cultures and ways of life. For example, I had to get a specialist in to write about Christian pilgrimage because that’s a big thing that draws people to places like Vatican City. I sometimes have to hire people who are good writers, and have actually experienced a holy land pilgrimage for these purposes.
I’ve found publishing my magazine to be an easy and affordable thing to do, despite what bigger companies may say. It probably helps that I got a large loan from my father, but you know, you have to have money to make money, and my father understood that. I’ve almost paid him back in full, so I’m pretty pleased about that.
